Explanation of Time Schedule
When one first notices our time schedule one thing pops out; it is not the traditional time schedule for the body of Christ and thereby our purpose may seem a bit confusing. If you will take the time to continue reading we might be able to help you understand, and perhaps you will appreciate what we are doing.
It was decided some time ago that we wanted to be able to spend more time on praising Jehovah God and taking the Lord’s Supper. We found that many of us were questioning our hurried practice of taking the Lord’s Supper at the last minute before dismissal, which is the way many of us had traditionally done it. This is not to say that there is anything wrong with such a practice, but we wanted to be able to give more time to preparing our minds and partaking of the Lord’s Supper.
So it was decided that we would gather at 9:00 a.m. and spend time in songs of praise, Scripture reading, a lesson concerning communion, and finally partaking of the Lord’s Supper. At 10:00 a.m. we have a fellowship break which lasts about 20 minutes. During this time we provide coffee and snacks in the fellowship hall.
At about 10:20 a.m. we gather back in the auditorium for our next assembly which centers on singing and the sermon for the day. There is usually another break around 11:20 a.m. After this short break at 11:30 a.m., we have bible classes for all ages. Bible class ends at 12:10 p.m.
You may have noticed that we do not have Sunday evening services. One of the reasons for this is that so many of our brothers and sisters have long travel hours to and from work, many not getting home until 7:00 p.m. every evening. You can only imagine how early they get up. It was the elders' desire for our families to have more time together on Sunday evening; so, the decision was made not to have a Sunday evening assembly, but to have an extra hour together in the morning.
We certainly hope this helps and you will stop by and give us a visit. We would love to meet you!
